GREETINGS FROM THE MAJOR

Ligonchio is the highest Council of the Appennino Reggiano. It is situated between the wonderful valleys of Ozola and Secchia, near the slopes of the Cusna Mount and it is the heart of the National Park of Appennino Tosco Emiliano.

Its landscape, still wild, natural, extraordinarily beautiful and of great scientific interest, is rich of resources: water, beech-woods and chestnuts trees, flowers and animals of the rarest species (wild lilies, orchids, gentians, muflons, dares, marmots, appenninic wolves, hawks, eagles, etc), architectonically interesting structures, as the hydroelectric generating stations, ancient villages with engraved stone doors, oratories, holy images, fountains, wash houses, ancient chestnuts driers, etc.
